Dr. Patankar completed his MBBS from MIMER Medical College, Talegaon, followed by a Diploma in Ophthalmology from JJM Medical College, Davangere, Karnataka. He further pursued DNB in Ophthalmology from the renowned M.M. Joshi Eye Institute, Hubli, Karnataka, and completed a Fellowship in Vitreo-Retina Surgery (FVRS) from Shri Ganapati Netralaya, Jalna, Maharashtra. He also underwent advanced training in Phacoemulsification Cataract Surgery at the Asian Eye Institute, Mumbai, further strengthening his expertise in modern cataract management.

Over the years, Dr. Patankar has worked with several reputed eye care institutions, including Rushabh Eye Hospital & Lasik Centre, Shivam Eye Foundation, and the Centre for Sight branches in Chembur and Nerul. He also serves as a Visiting Vitreo-Retina Consultant at Lions Chembur, Surana Sethia Hospital, and ESIS MGM Hospital, Parel.
